The senior management team at UCLH Private Healthcare have a wealth of experience in managing patient care and services both within the NHS and private hospitals.

15_10_2019 DG UCLH Priv-202.jpgKerensa has worked in NHS private patient units across London for more than ten years, and has experience of both the commercial infrastructure of private healthcare and of running private services.

In 2008 she became the director of private healthcare at The Royal Marsden, moving to the same role at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in 2013. Kerensa joined UCLH as the private healthcare programme director in 2018.

21_309 UCLH 260521-299.jpgSimon joined the team in 2020. He studied at Boston University and gained an MBA in Health Sector Management. He stayed in Boston, working at Brigham & Women’s Hospital as a senior project manager for the anaesthetics department, before returning to the UK. He then took on the role of head of business administration at Imperial Private Healthcare where he delivered improvements across billing, reception and cashiers.

Most recently, Simon has worked in the outpatients team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust where he worked on improving the operational performance of the centralised booking at the switchboard contact centre.

Yajna Seewooruthun.jpgYajna Seewooruthun joined us as our general manager in 2022. She is responsible for the operational management of all our private wards, making sure that there is a positive experience for our patients, consultants and staff.

Yajna joined the NHS in 2017, having previously worked in private healthcare in Fortis Clinique Darné in Mauritius where she launched a number of initiatives to improve patient experience. More recently, she managed one of the private units at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where she made significant improvements to the operational management of the ward, focusing on feedback from consultants, patients and team members.

She also holds an MSc in International Marketing Management from the University of Leeds.

Shaan Malhotra.JPG

Shaan Malhotra joined us as our assistant general manager after a period of leading bereavement, mortuary and medical examiner services for the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He led mortality response to the COVID pandemic, for which he was awarded the Chairman's award for leader of the year. 

Prior to this, Shaan led the customer service offering across Imperial Private Healthcare's five London sites, ensuring that all aspects of non-clinical care patients, carers and families received was of the highest standard. Determined to raise the bar, Shaan established the first NHS private healthcare partnership with the Independent Sector Complaints Adjudication Service (ISCAS), enabling the organisation to learn from all aspects of care, even when the customer had concerns. 

Shaan also has an MSc in Applied Psychology. He is dedicated to ensuring that all elements of the service he provides are delivered with compassion, safety and efficiency. 

72921 Diana.jpgDiana Nakamya joined the Bloomsbury Ward team in 2021. Prior to this she was the deputy ward sister on The Bernard Sunley Ward at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Diana aims to be a role model who has a personal impact and influence on her team.

Her goal is to ensure both patients and staff always have a positive experience under her leadership.

Amy Mepham.jpgAmy Mepham is the lead midwife for private maternity services at UCLH. 

Amy became a midwife in 2011 and has worked at UCLH ever since, working on both the labour ward and the antenatal care unit.

In 2021 she was appointed as the senior midwife for the maternal fetal assessment unit, with responsibility for the safe triage of pregnant patients, until joining the UCLH Private Healthcare team in 2023.

Amy has a real passion for the private maternity service at UCLH and the quality of personalised care we provide.

Rebecca headshot.jpgRebecca has a background in project and change management with a focus on delivering service transformation.

Rebecca’s previous role in healthcare was head of transformation for private care at the Royal Marsden. Prior to that, she worked at the Royal Marsden as the service manager for private care. She has also worked as the programme and project lead on various change programmes in London NHS trusts including the Royal Marsden, Bart’s, Ealing and Northwick Park.

Venus is one of UCLH Private Healthcare's Arabic advocates. She is responsible for providing interpreting and advocacy support to patients and their families, to ensure that there is clear communication about their care at UCLH.

Venus graduated from the department of translation at Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad. She has been an Arabic interpreter in a variety of London hospitals since 2007 and joined UCLH Private Healthcare in February 2022.
