We would like to welcome Debbie Bridgewater who has joined UCLH Private Healthcare as our new lead midwife at The Fitzrovia Private Maternity Suite, in the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing at University College Hospital.
Debbie trained as an enrolled nurse and worked abroad for many years. She then returned to the UK and graduated as a midwife from Kings College London in 2003. Over the years she has gained experience in a number of areas of midwifery practice including working as a labour ward coordinator, bereavement midwife, community midwife and a caseload midwife.
She also has experience of working in low risk birthing units, high dependency wards and previous experience of working in a private ward in an NHS environment. Prior to joining UCLH, Debbie was matron for a Fetal Medicine Unit.
“My key objective is to deliver safe care for women and families whilst improving the wellbeing for staff”, said Debbie.
“I am looking forward to working with the team.”
