The private ward at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is about to have a major transformation as part of a refurbishment programme across UCLH Private Healthcare.
The project will include much needed general improvements to ward infrastructure, a complete refurbishment of all 18 bedrooms, a redesign of the bathrooms to make them more accessible for patients with neurological conditions, the adaption of one bedroom and en suite to make it better suited for bariatric patients and the ability to undertake telemetry studies in one of the bedrooms.
The ward will be closed for a period of 13 weeks from 7 July, but UCLH Private Healthcare will still be able to take some private neuroscience patients in this time, who will stay in alternative accommodation.
“We believe all of these changes will vastly improve the experience we will be able to offer our patients going forwards”, said director of UCLH Private Healthcare, Kerensa Heffron. “We understand that this will cause some disruption to our patients in the short term, but we will do whatever we can to make their experience as positive as possible.”
