We are very pleased to welcome Charlotte Slack, who has joined the UCLH Private Healthcare team as the new lead midwife in The Fitzrovia Suite.
Charlotte qualified as a midwife in 2015 and began her career at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where she worked for seven years as a rotational midwife.
She joined UCLH in 2022 as the postnatal lead midwife, focusing on providing high‑quality postnatal care and driving improvements across the service. She led the successful introduction of the Exemplar Accreditation Award on the postnatal ward, managing day‑to‑day demands while finding new ways to enhance how care is delivered.
In April 2025, Charlotte started a secondment as the North Central London lead for rolling out the maternity support worker (MSW) competency framework. This was a complex, system-wide programme that brought together national guidance and local needs, supporting MSW education, development, and practice standards across the region.
Charlotte is currently working towards a master's degree in global public health and policy, helping her combine clinical experience with a broader understanding of how health systems work. This supports sustainable, evidence‑based improvements in maternity care.
"I am excited to be joining private maternity, where I am committed to advancing the high standards of care and bespoke patient experience expected in this setting and to leading a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement," said Charlotte.
