Two directors have joined the UCLH Board – Liz O’Hara, director of workforce and Laura Churchward, director of strategy.

LizOHara.jpgLiz O’Hara is now permanent director of workforce after having been acting director for almost a year. She had previously been deputy director of workforce for three years and was seconded to Oxford University Hospitals as interim director of workforce for six months in 2018.

LauraChurchward.jpgLaura Churchward, who has been our director of strategy for three years, has also joined the Board. Laura was responsible for the successful delivery of our new Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals and the development of the Grafton Way Building.

She has also implemented COVID-19 testing for staff, patients and the community, as well as taking a leading role in the roll out of the vaccination programme in North Central London.

Acting chief executive and chief financial officer Tim Jaggard said: “I am delighted to welcome Laura and Liz to the UCLH Board. They both bring with them a huge amount of experience and expertise in their respective fields and are highly respected leaders in the NHS.”

Liz replaces Ben Morrin, our former director of workforce, as a non-voting member of the Board. The director of strategy role has been made a non-voting member of the Board this month. Historically, this role had attended Board and by reinstating this arrangement, we are mirroring many other NHS trusts.
