We are pleased to announce the launch of a new private pituitary surgery service at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, led by Mr. Hani Marcus.
The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery has the largest pituitary service in the country, with an outstanding record for quality and safety. The hospital also leads in surgical techniques and innovation for pituitary surgery, including the use of artificial intelligence and robotics.
“We can provide a full range of surgical options, including endoscopic transsphenoidal surgery, which is the gold-standard treatment for most symptomatic adenomas," said Mr. Marcus. “This is one of the best examples of minimally invasive surgery with a faster recovery, a reduced risk of complications, and no visible scarring.”
Where appropriate, the hospital can also offer medical therapy and/or radiotherapy in selected cases, for example, where surgery is particularly challenging and there is residual disease or recurrence from a previous pituitary disorder.
“The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery has always been highly respected for its excellence in pituitary surgery, and we are delighted that we can now extend this service to our private patients," said director of private healthcare, Kerensa Heffron.
