Professor Thomas Foltynie

Thomas Foltynie is a consultant neurologist and professor of neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He has a specific interest in patients with movement disorders. Tom did his PhD studying the epidemiology and genetics of Parkinson's disease and is now responsible for patients undergoing deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's and other conditions.

He is also involved in trials of new treatments for Parkinson's disease including exenatide, immune therapies and gene therapies. He is on the scientific committee for the Cure Parkinson's Trust and the Linked Clinical Trials Initiative.
